"Feeling as if They're Truly Alive" – Lead Voice Actors Discuss the Appeal of TV Anime "Golden Kamuy"

The theatrical advance screening of "Golden Kamuy: Sapporo Beer Kōjō-hen" [Part 1] and [Part 2] is currently showing in theaters. This work consists of the prologue to the final chapter of the series that has continued since the first season of the TV anime broadcast in 2018, and the final chapter will air from January 2026.

The original manga "Golden Kamuy" (by Satoru Noda), serialized in "Weekly Young Jump," is an extremely popular work that has surpassed 30 million copies in total across all 31 volumes of the series, and has shown extensive media mix development including not only the TV anime but also live-action films and dramas.

In the theatrical advance screening of "Golden Kamuy: Sapporo Beer Kōjō-hen" [Part 1] and [Part 2], the climax leading to the story's conclusion is depicted. We conducted interviews with Chikahiro Kobayashi, who plays Saichi Sugimoto, Haruka Shiraishi as Asirpa, and Kentarō Itō as Yoshitake Shiraishi, to hear their thoughts on the appeal of the work "Golden Kamuy."

Through the journey to search for gold, this work features various distinctive characters appearing in an intertwined manner. Kobayashi states, "I think the greatest appeal is the feeling that these people are truly alive, along with the meticulous research and Noda-sensei's creativity that produces that (feeling). Although it's a fantasy, there's a connection to Ainu culture represented by citatap, and there's a realism that seems like it could exist somewhere in reality, connected to the present day – I think that's the appeal."
