The 100-Ton Hammer You Can Actually Hold Appears! Exhibition Report on "City Hunter Grand Original Art Exhibition"

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the manga "City Hunter," the largest-scale original art exhibition in the series' history, "City Hunter Grand Original Art Exhibition FOREVER, CITY HUNTER!!," will be held from November 22 to December 28 at the Ueno no Mori Museum of Art in Tokyo.

"City Hunter" is a comic by Tsukasa Hojo that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from 1985 to 1991. The story follows Ryo Saeba, a highly skilled sweeper based in Shinjuku, and his partner Kaori Makimura, as they take down evil that cannot be judged by law and resolve various requests. At the "City Hunter Grand Original Art Exhibition," numerous original artworks are displayed in a seven-chapter structure that allows visitors to immerse themselves in the world of the original manga. First, in the "Prologue" that catches your eye immediately upon entering the entrance, the 100-ton hammer, which can be called an iconic item symbolizing "City Hunter," is on display. Visitors can actually lift the hammer and take photos with it.

As you walk further, the message board at the east exit of Shinjuku Station appears. The familiar "XYZ" is displayed in real-time, so please take your time to appreciate the visual presentation.
