"The Apothecary Diaries" is an anime work based on the light novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu. It is a major hit that has also been adapted into manga in two monthly magazines. The series became a huge topic of discussion, gaining popularity for Maomao's mystery-solving as she works as a "food taster" in the rear palace, as well as the comical interactions between Maomao and Jinshi. The TV anime has been broadcast up to Season 2, and Season 3 has been announced to air in a split two-cour format starting in October 2026 and April 2027. Additionally, the series' first theatrical film is scheduled for release in December 2026.
