The Apothecary Diaries series has surpassed 45 million copies in cumulative circulation. This represents an increase of 21 million copies from the 24 million copies before the first anime season began airing. Additionally, the original novel exhibition for The Apothecary Diaries will be held at Tokyo Solamachi from December 5th to 25th.

The first volume of The Apothecary Diaries from Hero Bunko was published at the end of August 2014, and 16 volumes are currently on sale. The work became a pioneer of the current "imperial court boom," and its intricate story of a poison taster girl solving various difficult cases has received widespread support.

The manga adaptations are also being published by two companies, Square Enix and Shogakukan. On November 25th, the latest 16th volume of the Square Enix version and the first official spin-off story, The Apothecary Diaries Side Story: Xiaolan's Recollections, were released.

The second TV anime season, which aired from January 2025, concluded to great acclaim, and production of the third TV anime season and theatrical film in 2026 has been confirmed. The third season will be split into two cours, with the first cour airing in October 2026 and the second cour in April 2027. Furthermore, the theatrical film to be released in December 2026 will feature a completely original story by the original author Hyuganatsu, attracting significant attention.

The series cumulative circulation*, which was 24 million copies as of the end of September 2023 before the first TV anime season began airing, exceeded 33 million copies by the end of the first season, and reached the major milestone of 40 million copies in February 2025. With the broadcast of the second TV anime season further accelerating momentum, the series has now surpassed 45 million copies.
