The anime "Kingdom" is based on the hugely popular manga by Yasuhisa Hara, which has surpassed 120 million copies in total circulation. It is an epic historical romance set in China during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States period, depicting the exploits of Shin (CV: Masakazu Morita), a boy aiming to become a Great General of the Heavens, and Ei Sei (CV: Jun Fukuyama), a young king who would later become the First Emperor of China. The TV anime's first season began broadcasting in 2012, and the fourth live-action film "Kingdom: Taishōgun no Kikan" released in 2024 recorded box office revenue of 8 billion yen.

Finally, the Qin allied forces reach Gyō, the second city of the Zhao nation.
