Overwhelming Response to Voice Actress Manaka Iwami's Smiling Photo with Special "The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten" Cake, Flooded with "Happy Birthday Mahiru-chan" Messages

A photo celebrating the birthday of a character she voices, published from voice actress Manaka Iwami's X account, has become a topic of conversation.

The published image captures Iwami showing a beaming smile alongside a large two-tiered birthday cake. At the top of the cake sits an illustration plate of "Mahiru Shiina," and the sides are lavishly decorated with adorable icing cookies of animals such as cats, rabbits, dogs, and pandas, along with cream decorations shaped like flowers. Iwami peeks out from behind the extra-large cake with a joyful expression on her face.

"The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten" is an anime adaptation of a light novel by author Saeki-san. It depicts the sweet and frustrating romance between Amane Fujimiya (CV: Taito Ban), a high school student living alone, and Mahiru Shiina (CV: Manaka Iwami), the school's most beautiful girl who lives in the neighboring room. Mahiru is called "Tenshi-sama" (Angel-sama) due to her appearance and excellence, but the romantic comedy has gained popularity for the vulnerable side she shows through her interactions with Amane and the gradually closing distance between the two.
