The synopsis and advance cuts for Episode 21 of the anime Tougen Anki have been released.
Tougen Anki is based on a popular manga by Yura Urushibara, serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion (Akita Shoten), which has surpassed 4.5 million copies in circulation. The manga is inspired by the classic Japanese folk tale Momotaro (Peach Boy), depicting the conflict between those who inherit the blood of Oni (demons/ogres) and those who inherit the blood of Momotaro.
Shiki Ichinose (CV: Kazuki Ura), a boy who had been living as an ordinary human, is suddenly attacked one day by a mysterious man belonging to the "Momotaro Agency." While attempting to escape with his foster father, he learns the truth: the pursuers are descendants of the folk hero Momotaro, and he himself is a descendant of the Oni (demons). This is a modern tale of the descendants of Momotaro and Oni, vastly different from the story that begins, "Once upon a time, there lived an old man and an old woman..."
