"The Apothecary Diaries" is an anime adaptation based on the light novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu. It's a mega-hit that has also been adapted into manga in two monthly magazines. The series gained significant attention and popularity for its mystery-solving by Maomao, who works as a "poison taster" in the rear palace, and the comical exchanges between Maomao and Jinshi. The TV anime has aired up to Season 2, and Season 3 has been announced for broadcast in a split two-cour format starting in October 2026 and April 2027. Additionally, the series' first theatrical film is scheduled for release in December 2026.
