Items from "Chiikawa × Sanrio Characters," featuring a collaborative design between "Chiikawa" and Sanrio Co., Ltd.'s characters, will be available from December 12 at the official Chiikawa WEB SHOP "Chiikawa Market," the official Chiikawa goods shop "Chiikawaland," and other locations.
"Chiikawa" is a popular manga posted on X (formerly Twitter) by illustrator Nagano, who began serialization in 2020. It won the Grand Prix at the "Japan Character Awards 2022" and the "Japan Character Awards 2024" announced in July 2024. The gap between the small and cute characters and the harsh world setting has garnered widespread popularity from adults to children alike, and the number of followers has surpassed 4.42 million to date.
The anime "Chiikawa" new series has been airing from July 15, 2025, within Fuji TV's "Mezamashi TV." Additionally, "Chiikawa's" first theatrical film, "Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of Mermaid Island," is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2026.
