On December 12th, the official X account of 'Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!' posted the cover illustration for volume 8.5 of the novel. Many fans have had their hearts captured by Gon-chan's "adult" presence depicted in the image.

'Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!' (Author: Takibi Amamori, Illustrator: Imigimuru) is a light novel that depicts a story where the protagonist, Kazuhiko Nukumizu, becomes involved with "losing heroines" who have unfortunately lost in school romances. In addition to a comic version being published, an anime adaptation aired from July 2024, and a second season has been confirmed.

The posted image is the cover of volume 8.5 of the novel, scheduled for release on January 26, 2026. It depicts Gon-chan, aka Asami Gondo, a middle school student who is a close friend of Nukumizu's younger sister, in her school uniform. True to Gon-chan's character setting of being tall and mature, the illustration is striking with her slightly looking-down, cool gaze.

In response to this post, fans appeared captivated by Gon-chan's atmosphere, commenting "She's a middle schooler...what...?", "When you really look at her, she's the most mature and alluring of anyone", and "Gondo-san is so cool!" Additionally, comments were seen from fans who were drawn into the exquisite harmony created by her raised upper arm and sailor uniform, such as "That empty space in the sleeve contains my entire being."
