Ōkubo, making her third appearance and having served as an MC during the early days of the broadcast, inspired confidence in Hanae, who commented, "When I'm with Ōkubo-san, I feel like I can leave everything to her." The opening segment thus began in a relaxed and harmonious atmosphere.
The three of them played the program's specially created original sugoroku board game, "Unemployed Hero Sugoroku" (Unemployed Hero Board Game). This game proceeded under special rules inspired by the anime's title: events noted on each square caused changes in the players' occupations and the amount of money they held, with the person who finished unemployed and with the least amount of money ultimately winning the game.
The first player to roll the dice, Ōkubo, immediately landed on a square that read "Pass the Civil Service Exam! Get a Job at the Government Office." She screamed, "Ahhh! I got a job!" at what would normally be good news. Hanae suddenly acquired a large sum of money by landing on "Fail Job Hunting but Win the Lottery, Gaining 5 Million Yen." Although he said, "Well, I'm still unemployed, right?" he made a sour face. As Ono also landed on the same government job square as Ōkubo, viewers commented on the three struggling to land on favorable squares from the start, posting remarks such as "Going from civil servant to aiming for unemployment lol," and "Working is losing." They clearly enjoyed the unique rules of the game.
