New "Sgt. Frog" Film Set for Summer 2026 Release After 16 Years! Yuichi Fukuda to Serve as General Director, Teaser Visual & Trailer Unveiled

As part of the 20th anniversary project for the anime "Sgt. Frog," it has been decided that the latest theatrical film "New Theatrical Version☆Sgt. Frog: Revived and Immediately Facing Earth's Destruction Crisis!" will be released in the summer of 2026. This will be the first theatrical release in approximately 16 years since the 2010 film.

"Sgt. Frog" is a comedy series currently serialized by Mine Yoshizaki in "Monthly Shonen Ace" (KADOKAWA). It depicts the commotion caused by frog-like aliens who visit Earth. The television anime series aired for seven years starting in 2004, and five theatrical anime films have been released to date, with the franchise expanding across various media. The official YouTube channel, established in April 2021, has surpassed 250,000 subscribers as of June 2025. The series celebrated its 25th anniversary of manga serialization and 20th anniversary of the television anime broadcast in 2024.

Yuichi Fukuda, known for the drama series "Yusha Yoshihiko" and the "Gintama" film series, has been appointed as scriptwriter and general director for this production. Fumitoshi Oizaki will serve as director, Satoshi Koike as character designer, and BN Pictures will handle the animation production.

Additionally, a teaser visual, teaser trailer, and title logo have been released. The unveiled visual depicts the Keroro Platoon walking in tuxedos on a red carpet laid out in space.

Furthermore, comments from the main cast members have been announced, including Jōji Nakata (Corporal Giroro), Takehito Koyasu (Sergeant Major Kururu), Takeshi Kusao (Lance Corporal Dororo), Chiwa Saitō (Natsumi Hinata), and Akiko Hiramatsu (Aki Hinata).
