Anime "Champignon Witch" Announces Shōya Chiba as Henri! Broadcasting Begins January 8th with 1-Hour Special, Special PV Released

Details regarding the broadcast and streaming of the TV anime "Champignon Witch" have been announced. The series will begin airing on TBS on Thursday, January 8th, 2026 at 1:58 AM, and on BS11 on Friday, January 9th at 11:00 PM. Additionally, a special PV has been released, and it has been decided that Shōya Chiba will play the role of Henri.

This work is an anime adaptation of the manga of the same name currently serialized in "Manga Park" (Hakusensha) by Tachibana Higuchi, known for works such as "Gakuen Alice." It is a magical fantasy work featuring Luna (CV: Haruka Shiraishi), the "Champignon Witch" with the unique constitution of growing poisonous mushrooms, and the people surrounding her.

In conjunction with this announcement, it has been decided that the first broadcast on TBS and BS11 will be a "1-hour special" featuring episodes 1 and 2 aired consecutively. The first broadcast will depict a prequel story from before Luna meets Lize (CV: Yuki Sakakihara). Regarding streaming, advance distribution will be available on d Anime Store and Hulu starting Thursday, January 8th at 3:00 AM, with sequential distribution planned on other platforms as well.

Additionally, a special PV has been released. This PV features the first-ever release of the audio for the opening theme song "Mahoutsukai no Nikki" by Loss, and viewers can see dramatic footage of Luna weaving her story with Lize and Henri.

Furthermore, as the fourth wave of character and cast information, it has been revealed that Shōya Chiba will play Henri. Henri is described as a beautiful boy whom Luna happens to see in town, a character who is brilliant and handsome but also has a slightly absent-minded side. Accompanying the cast announcement, a campaign has begun on the official X account where fans can win a autographed shikishi board by Chiba.
