Latest Volume 21 of "The Apothecary Diaries: Maomao's Court Mystery-Solving Notebook" Released December 19th - Regular Edition Features Jinshi, Special Edition Features Maomao on Cover

The latest Volume 21 of "The Apothecary Diaries: Maomao's Court Mystery-Solving Notebook," currently serialized in "Monthly Sunday GX" (Shogakukan, released around the 19th of each month), will be released on December 19th. In addition to the regular edition, a special edition with an alternative cover including a pill case and drawstring bag will also be released on the same day.

"The Apothecary Diaries" is an anime adaptation based on the light novel of the same name by Hyuuganatsu. It is a major hit that has been adapted into manga in two monthly magazines. The series has gained immense popularity and become a hot topic, featuring mystery-solving dramas by Maomao, who works as a "poison taster" in the rear palace, as well as comical interactions between Maomao and Jinshi. The TV anime has been broadcast up to Season 2, and Season 3 has been announced to air in a split two-cour format starting in October 2026 and April 2027. Additionally, the series' first theatrical film is scheduled for release in December 2026.

The latest Volume 21 of "The Apothecary Diaries: Maomao's Court Mystery-Solving Notebook" being released features Jinshi on the regular edition cover and Maomao on the special edition cover.

The pill case included with the special edition is adorned with original illustrations by Minoji Kurata and can be used to carry not only medicine but also accessories.
