It was announced on December 21st that Kill Blue, the latest work by manga artist Tadatoshi Fujimaki (known for Kuroko's Basketball and others), is getting a TV anime adaptation set to premiere in April 2026 on the TV Tokyo network. Along with this announcement, the main promotional video (PV), key visual, and main cast members were unveiled.

Based on the manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 2023 to 2025, the story follows Juzo Ogami, a legendary hitman who is transformed into a middle schooler following a certain incident. It is a "reliving youth" school action-comedy where he attends middle school while facing down underworld troubles.

The newly released key visual features a sharp-eyed Juzo holding a gun in his left hand, surrounded by a cast of unique characters: the heroine Noren Mitsuoka, his partner Kotatsu Nekota who provides remote instructions, Shin Kohazame with a pacifier in his mouth, and Tenma Tendo manipulating a baseball. The visual also depicts hitmen like Eiji Rindo carrying a golf club and Kazuma Rindo aiming a gun, foreshadowing a tumultuous school life ahead.

Cast information was also released all at once. As previously reported, Shunsuke Takeuchi will play the adult Juzo Ogami, but it has now been revealed that Yuko Sanpei will voice the middle school version of Juzo. Additionally, the cast includes Fuka Izumi as the corporate heiress Noren Mitsuoka, Shuichiro Umeda as Juzo's supportive partner Kotatsu Nekota, Takeo Otsuka as Tenma Tendo of the elite organization "Unicorn," Atsumi Tanezaki as the Home Economics Club President Chisato Shiraishi, and Yumi Uchiyama as Juzo's ex-wife, Eri Wanibuchi.

Original author Fujimaki-sensei sent a comment with his unique phrasing to attendees at "Jump Festa," held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba: "If you can look forward to this with the same level of excitement as hearing 'It seems like a new flavor of my favorite snack is coming out next year,' that would be enough for me."
