"The Apothecary Diaries" is an anime adaptation based on the light novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu. It is a massive hit that has also been adapted into manga serializations in two monthly magazines and a manga magazine app. The series became a major topic of discussion due to its popularity, featuring Maomao's mystery-solving adventures as she works as a "poison taster" in the rear palace, as well as the comical interactions between Maomao and Jinshi. The TV anime has been broadcast up to Season 2, and Season 3 has been announced for broadcast in split two-cours starting in October 2026 and April 2027. Additionally, the series' first theatrical film is scheduled to be released in December 2026. Starting in November 2025, a tour of "The Apothecary Diaries" TV anime exhibition will be held in various Asian cities, demonstrating the series' continuously growing popularity worldwide.
