"The Apothecary Diaries" is an anime adaptation of the light novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu. It's a major hit that has also been adapted into manga in two monthly magazines and a manga app. The series became a huge topic of conversation, gaining popularity for Maomao's detective work as a "poison taster" in the rear palace and the comical exchanges between Maomao and Jinshi. The TV anime has aired up to its second season, and a third season has been announced for a split two-cour broadcast starting in October 2026 and April 2027.
