"The Apothecary Diaries" is an anime adaptation of the light novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu. It's a massive hit that has been adapted into manga serializations in two monthly magazines and a manga magazine app. The series became hugely popular and generated significant buzz with Maomao's mystery-solving as she works as a "poison taster" in the rear palace, as well as the comical exchanges between Maomao and Jinshi. The TV anime has aired through its second season, and it has been announced that season 3 will air in split two-cours starting in October 2026 and April 2027. Additionally, the series' first theatrical film is scheduled for release in December 2026. The popularity continues to grow worldwide, with "The Apothecary Diaries" TV anime exhibition set to tour various Asian cities starting in November 2025.
