The "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" anime series is based on the manga of the same name by Koyoharu Gotoge, which was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" from 2016 to 2020. It is a story set in the Taisho era that depicts the battles of Tanjiro, a boy whose family was killed by demons.

The TV anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc," which began broadcasting in April 2019, quickly became a hot topic, and the sequel "Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train" surpassed 50 billion yen in total worldwide box office revenue. The original manga has surpassed 220 million copies in total worldwide circulation, becoming a mega-hit that will remain in Japanese manga and anime history.

Following the "Unwavering Resolve Arc," the TV anime broadcast the "Entertainment District Arc," "Swordsmith Village Arc," and "Hashira Training Arc," and the final episodes, "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle," have been announced as a trilogy. "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle  Chapter 1 - Akaza's Return" has been in theaters since July 18, 2025, and in November it was announced that the total worldwide box office revenue had surpassed 106.3 billion yen. On the Aniplex channel on YouTube, character commercials using footage from the main film have been released for eight consecutive weeks starting November 1, 2025.
