"The Apothecary Diaries" is an anime adaptation based on the light novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu. It's a mega-hit that has also been adapted into comics in two monthly magazines and a manga app. The mystery dramas featuring Maomao working as a "poison taster" in the rear palace, and the comical interactions between Maomao and Jinshi, gained popularity and became a major topic of conversation. The TV anime has aired up to its second season, and the third season has been announced for broadcast in a split two-cour format starting in October 2026 and April 2027. Additionally, the series' first theatrical film is scheduled for release in December 2026. Starting in November 2025, "The Apothecary Diaries" anime exhibition will tour Asian cities, and its popularity continues to grow worldwide.
