First Completely New 'Armored Trooper Votoms' Work in 15 Years, 'Die Graue Hexe,' Launches in 2026! Directed by Mamoru Oshii, Powerful Collaboration Between Sunrise and Production I.G

It has been announced that 'Armored Trooper Votoms: Die Graue Hexe,' a completely new work in the 'Armored Trooper Votoms' series, will be released in 2026. Along with this announcement, the first visual and first footage have been released, and the official website and official X account have been opened.

'Armored Trooper Votoms' is a real robot anime work directed by Ryosuke Takahashi and produced by Sunrise. Since the television series aired from 1983 to 1984, it has been developed in various ways for over 40 years, including OVAs, spin-offs, theatrical films, event screenings, and novelizations.

Mamoru Oshii, known for works such as 'GHOST IN THE SHELL / Kōkaku Kidōtai' and 'Patlabor the Mobile Police,' has been appointed as the director of the new work 'Die Graue Hexe.' Animation production will be handled by Sunrise, with Production I.G participating as production cooperation.

Additionally, this work is being produced as part of the "Sunrise 50th Anniversary" project. Bandai Namco Filmworks has designated the three-year period from 2026 to 2028 as the commemorative period and is planning multiple commemorative projects centered around Sunrise works.
