"You Can't Be In a Rom-Com with Your Childhood Friends!" is based on the manga by Shinya Misu. The story follows a triangular rom-com dynamic between "Eiyū" (Yonosuke Sakai), Shio Minamo (CV: Rin Kusumi), and Akari Hiodoshi.

Synopsis:
Eiyū and Shio find themselves on a packed bus. Pressed close together, Eiyū’s heart starts racing at Shio’s stylish appearance and their physical proximity. What desperate measures will Eiyū take to keep his composure...? Later that night, Shio drops by Akari’s room for a "snack party," only to overhear Akari looking at a photo of Eiyū on her phone and lamenting, "Why can't I just be honest with him...?"
