[Photos/Images] Tsurugi and Yuka Cheering on Maki? Original Illustration by Yuji Iwasaki, Artist of "Jujutsu Kaisen ≡," Released! Large-Scale Reprint of Volume 1 Decided! 1st

The official X account for "Jujutsu Kaisen" announced that a large-scale reprint of Volume 1 of "Jujutsu Kaisen ≡" (Modulo) has been decided, and along with this announcement, a commemorative illustration drawn by artist Yuji Iwasaki was released, generating buzz among fans.

The released image depicts characters drawn in a soft, deformed style cheering for something. From the dialogue flowing from what appears to be a monitor—"Jinichi-san!! Now!! Right here!!..."—it can be inferred that this refers to Episode 51 of the anime "Jujutsu Kaisen," which aired on January 22nd. Watching the figure of Maki Zenin (CV: Mikako Komatsu) fighting against the Zenin family's sorcerers, her grandson Tsurugi Okkotsu is surprised and exasperated, while his younger sister Yuka is rejoicing with a fist pump.

"Jujutsu Kaisen ≡" is a work depicting events 68 years after the "Culling Game" arc of the main "Jujutsu Kaisen" series. Akutami, who serialized the main "Jujutsu Kaisen" series, handles the original story, while Yuji Iwasaki handles the artwork. Serialized from Issue 41 of 2025, it is set in the near future of the year 2086, 68 years after the Culling Game. It depicts the battle between extraterrestrial life forms called "Simuria Aliens" and Japanese jujutsu sorcerers (the Okkotsu siblings, Tsurugi and Yuka).

In response to this post, fans flooded the comments with congratulatory messages such as "Congratulations on the reprint decision!" and "I love Modulo!" On the other hand, comments expressing mixed feelings were also posted regarding the gap between the cuteness of the illustration and the serious developments in Episode 51 of the currently airing anime "Jujutsu Kaisen," such as "It's cute, but can they really get excited watching Episode 51?" and "Is that reaction really appropriate?"
