[Photos/Images] Tsurugi and Yuka Mimicking Maki Zenin's Action? Yuji Iwasaki, the Illustrator of "Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo," Releases Original Illustration! Following the Decision to Reprint Volume 1 1st

Manga artist Yuji Iwasaki updated his X account to announce that Volume 1 of "Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo" has been approved for reprinting, and released an illustration expressing his gratitude, which has become a hot topic.

The released image features the characters Tsurugi Okkotsu and Yuka Okkotsu beneath large text reading "Reprint." Their poses—thrusting a fist forward with a "Zupaa" sound effect and moving lightly with a "Suiii" sound—are depicted in a comical touch, with a message of gratitude saying "Thank you very much!!" at the bottom.

The poses that Tsurugi and Yuka are striking appear to mimic part of the battle scene of their grandmother, Maki Zenin, from Episode 51 of the anime "Jujutsu Kaisen," which aired on January 22. In the original illustration by Iwasaki released on the official "Jujutsu Kaisen" account on January 23, there is also a scene showing the two watching the anime, suggesting a narrative connection.

In response to this post, fans have flooded in with congratulations and praise, saying "Congratulations on the reprint," "I love Iwasaki-sensei's art," "Modulo is the best!" and "I look forward to seeing more of Tsurugi-kun and Yuka-chan's adventures." Additionally, voices have been raised requesting that this short-term serialization "should become a long-term series."

"Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo" is a work depicting events 68 years after the "Culling Game" arc in the main "Jujutsu Kaisen" series. Akutami, who serialized the main "Jujutsu Kaisen" series, is in charge of the original story, while the artwork is handled by Yuji Iwasaki. Serialized from Issue 41 of 2025, it is set in the near future of the year 2086, 68 years after the Culling Game. It depicts the battle between extraterrestrial life forms called "Simuria Aliens" and Japanese jujutsu sorcerers (the siblings Tsurugi and Yuka Okkotsu).
