On January 25th, at the event "Dragon Ball Genkidama Festival" held at Makuhari Messe, a new project for the anime 'Dragon Ball Super', titled 'Dragon Ball Super: Beerus', was announced. It will begin airing on Fuji TV in fall 2026.
'Dragon Ball Super: Beerus' is positioned as an "enhanced version" of the anime 'Dragon Ball Super', for which Akira Toriyama handled the original work, story, and character design. True to the name "enhanced (strengthened and improved)", the existing footage has undergone significant additions of new cuts and revisions, as well as re-shooting of all cuts. Furthermore, through new dubbing with additional background music and sound effects, and a reconstruction of the story, the power and immersive experience of all scenes, including battle scenes, have been elevated. The broadcast will deliver a satisfying quality that more faithfully and meticulously recreates Toriyama's original concepts and worldview.
At the event stage, Masako Nozawa, who voices Son Goku, and Kōichi Yamadera, who voices God of Destruction Beerus, took the stage to celebrate the launch of the new "Super". The simultaneously released "Super Launch Trailer" depicts enhanced footage of the universe-shaking battle between God of Destruction Beerus, who awakened from a long slumber, and Goku, who became Super Saiyan God.
