[Photos/Images] "Do Not Mix! Danger!" The massive "temperature difference" in the Medalist x Grand Blue Dreaming collaboration ad is going viral. 1st

A collaboration ad between the manga series Grand Blue Dreaming and Medalist is making waves online. The artwork was released by the official Grand Blue & TenPuru X account to celebrate the start of the Medalist Season 2 anime.

The post announced, "The Medalist Season 2 anime is finally starting!" while adding, "As a fellow sports series from Afternoon magazine, Grand Blue is cheering it on with passion!" Accompanied by photos of past joint advertisements, the post encouraged fans to tune in. Along with the support, they also shared the update: "The Grand Blue Dreaming Season 3 anime is also currently in active production!"

The released image shows a large horizontal advertisement displayed inside a train station. On the right, Inori Yuitsuka (CV: Natsumi Haruse), the protagonist of Medalist, wears a determined expression with tears in her eyes, declaring, "I will make skating 'special'." In stark contrast, on the left, Grand Blue's protagonist Iori Kitahara (CV: Yuma Uchida) flashes a defiant grin, proclaiming, "I will make stripping 'normal'." The juxtaposition of these clashing taglines creates a truly surreal sight.

Fans reacted to the post with a mix of confusion and hilarity, leaving comments such as: "Is there any chance they could collab in the anime by some mistake?" "Why on earth would you put these two together?" "The 'Do Not Mix' warning is an understatement here," "I have so many questions about why this collab exists..." and "The tonal shift between these two is absolutely insane."

Medalist is a manga series by Tsurumaikada, currently serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Afternoon. It tells the story of Inori Yuitsuka and Tsukasa Akeuraji, who cross paths as "athlete and coach" fueled by a powerful dream for figure skating as they aim for the glory of becoming "Medalists." Season 2 of the TV anime began airing on January 24, 2026.

Grand Blue Dreaming is a "nude youth diving comedy" by author Kenji Inoue and illustrator Kimitake Yoshioka, currently serialized in Kodansha’s good! Afternoon. The series has surpassed 10 million copies in circulation worldwide. Following its massive success, the second season of the anime aired starting in July 2025.
