A special video commemorating the release of the film "Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe" has been released on the official Gundam YouTube channel "Gundam Channel," causing a major buzz among longtime fans.
What was released this time is the 8th PV of the "Call of Hathaway" project, a crossover featuring eight selected works from the Gundam series and "Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe." The video, released on January 28th, focuses on "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack," featuring content where the stories of protagonist Amuro Ray (CV: Tōru Furuya) and the protagonist of this work, Hathaway Noa (CV: Kenshō Ono), intersect. The inclusion of Amuro's newly recorded voice in particular seems to be heightening fan enthusiasm.
The released footage showcases the trajectory of Amuro Ray throughout the series, from his boyhood appearance in "Mobile Suit Gundam" through "Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam" to "Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack." The direction linking the growth of this hero who has carved out the history of the Universal Century with the figure of Hathaway, who struggles and fights as if inheriting that will, is spectacular. The heroic figures of beloved mobile suits throughout the ages, such as the original Gundam and ν Gundam (Nu Gundam), can also be seen, resulting in a crossover video that stirs the hearts of both new and old fans.
"Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway" is an animated work based on the novel of the same name by Yoshiyuki Tomino. It depicts Hathaway Noa, son of Bright Noa, as the leader of the anti-Earth Federation government movement "Mafty," standing up against the corrupt federal government. In the second part, "The Sorcery of Nymph Circe," Hathaway's fate begins to move even more dramatically.
On social media, emotional voices flooded in response to Amuro's long-awaited appearance, with comments such as "Welcome back, Amuro," "There's an incomparable level of emotion when it's this person's voice," and "I want to see a work where Amuro is the protagonist once more." Additionally, many comments expressing anticipation have been posted regarding the surprise timing just before the release on Friday, January 30th, such as "I'm truly happy just to be able to hear Amuro's newly recorded voice" and "I'm super excited."
