——In Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe, Hathaway begins to operate in earnest as Mafty Navue Erin.

Ono: In the first chapter, he was putting on the persona of Hathaway Noa, the good-natured son of Bright Noa, wearing it like armor to avoid being recognized as Mafty, but because he was conversing with his public face, there were quite a lot of scenes where there was a disconnect between what he was thinking in his heart and the words he was speaking.

Even in his conversations with Gigi, there was something close to psychological maneuvering, wondering how much she understood, and I really struggled with having to naturally say the words of his public persona even though he was thinking something completely different inside.

However, in Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe, Hathaway is with his comrades, so he can have conversations in a way that's a bit closer to his true self. In that sense, it was easier to organize my feelings.

Ono: Since the script is written centered on dialogue, I read through the descriptions in the novel (such as narrative text), supplemented what Hathaway was thinking at each moment, and grasped "what kind of feeling is behind this line" before organizing my emotions and approaching the recording.

Even so, during the recording, through conversations with Director Murase and receiving direction, there were many times when I understood intentions I hadn't realized, so I performed while adapting on the spot.
