Ueda also commented about Hathaway: "I had a strong impression that he's completely tangled up, and has reached a point of no return. I found myself thinking, isn't there anyone who can help untangle these knots one by one? Watching him made me feel incredibly painful." We then asked each of them about Gigi's character portrayal as well.

Gigi, who reveals glimpses of both a mature, bewitching side and a childish side, is difficult to describe in a single word. As Ueda reflected on how she perceived the character while performing, she elaborated: "Before Gigi (as a person) was formed, there were probably many things she had given up on... Through meeting Hathaway, she received a lot of stimulation and came to reflect on the way of life she had given up on, so I performed while thinking that there was a possibility she couldn't properly experience the youth she should have been able to experience."

While wondering if Gigi isn't as trapped by the expanding darkness of the heart as Hathaway is, and thinking about Gigi's inner nature, Ono's view of Gigi's character portrayal resonated with Ueda's heart: "I think she's living without being able to have normal age-appropriate experiences. I think she simply wanted an ordinary romance. I thought that wanting to live without regrets might be one of Gigi's behavioral principles."

In response to this remark, Ueda candidly expressed her honest impression: "I didn't have that awareness at all while performing, but when someone else says that, I find myself thinking, maybe that's really how Gigi was?"
