The official X account for Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe has shared details regarding its massive ad campaign at Shinjuku Station. The striking visual presentation has already made a huge splash on social media.
According to the post, the ads are being displayed along the Shinjuku Station East-West Free Passage until Sunday, February 1. The film finally made its nationwide premiere on Friday, January 30.
The images shared by the official account reveal a production that takes full advantage of the massive digital signage spanning the corridor walls. With the Mafty emblem glowing vividly and high-intensity mobile suit combat scenes playing out, the display leaves a powerful impression of the film’s gritty and profound world on every passerby.
Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway is an animated film based on the novel by director Yoshiyuki Tomino. It serves as a sequel to Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack, which depicted the final showdown between Amuro Ray and Char Aznable. The Witch of Circe is the second installment of a trilogy following Hathaway Noa (CV: Kensho Ono)—son of Bright Noa—as he leads a rebellion against the corrupt Earth Federation government. Following the massive success of the first film, this long-awaited sequel has finally arrived.
Meanwhile, what has truly ignited social media is the viral spread of "a certain sight" captured by visitors. Takibi Amamori, the author of the light novel series Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!, posted a photo of the scene with the caption: "Hathaway was backed into a corner in Shinjuku Station again... Someone just put him out of his misery." > The photos reveal an extreme close-up of Hathaway Noa's face—eyes wide, drenched in cold sweat, and utterly distraught—replicated countless times across the long corridor. This serious yet surreal spectacle has delighted fans, with others chiming in: "The Shinjuku East-West passage is completely painted in Gundam colors," "It was so cool," and "This is incredible." The excitement is reaching a fever pitch just ahead of the film's release.
