On ABEMA, the special program "'In the Clear Moonlit Dusk' Broadcast Launch Special! A Night Delivered by Two Princes" was exclusively streamed for free on Monday, January 26th at 8 PM.
"In the Clear Moonlit Dusk" is a coming-of-age love story that begins when the heroine Yoi Takiguchi, who is beautiful in appearance and adored as a "prince," meets Kohaku Ichimura, who is similarly called a "prince." The special program featured Rei Ichinomiya, who plays Yoi Takiguchi, and Ryōta Suzuki, who plays Kohaku Ichimura. Their approach to the work and episodes from the recording sessions were revealed.
Ryōta Suzuki: "She was already Yoi-chan" - Revealing Rei Ichinomiya's Affinity with Her Role
This was the first time Ichinomiya and Suzuki worked together on a production. Regarding his first impression of Ichinomiya, Suzuki said, "Just from seeing her at the recording site, I thought 'this person is Yoi-chan' - her atmosphere was so much like Yoi-chan," and reflected on the situation at the site, saying, "Her straightforwardness during the dubbing linked with the character, and I thought that was wonderful."
On the other hand, Ichinomiya confessed that she was overwhelmed by Suzuki's "aura" the moment he entered the studio. Suzuki immediately retorted, "It's not an aura, I'm just big!" The studio was filled with laughter at the light-hearted exchange between the two from the opening, and their talk conveyed how close the two had become despite this being their first time working together.
Yoi Performed "As Is," and Kohaku's Appeal Lies in His Gap - The "Two Princes" Discuss Their Character Development
Next came the character introduction corner. When asked about developing the role of Yoi Takiguchi, Ichinomiya commented, "Without thinking deeply about using this kind of voice or going with this kind of performance, I was conscious of being 'as is' and walked together with the character throughout the recording period." Suzuki also expressed Yoi's charm as "the fact that her very demeanor is beautiful," and said with a laugh, "She's so straightforward that I worry whether she'll be deceived by bad people."
On the other hand, regarding Kohaku Ichimura, Suzuki emphasized, "While Yoi is incredibly prince-like, Kohaku isn't really that prince-like. He looks a bit flippant at first glance, but the serious expression he shows in fleeting moments - that gap is the best thing about him!" Ichinomiya also said with a smile, "He has a slightly dangerous air about him. It seems like it would be dangerous if you fell for him," and "'Kohaku Meloi' might be what this is (lol)," but when she inevitably views Kohaku from Yoi's perspective, she revealed her true feelings, saying, "I was like, 'Don't get close to Yoi-chan! Don't do a chin lift on your first meeting!'" which prompted further laughter.
