The TV anime "The Dangers in My Heart," which aired its first season starting in April 2023 and its second season starting in January 2024, is a coming-of-age romantic comedy depicting the innocent love story between Kyōtaro Ichikawa, a boy with chuunibyou syndrome, and Anna Yamada, a beautiful girl with an absent-minded side.
"The Dangers in My Heart: The Movie," which re-edits the episodes depicted across all 25 TV anime episodes from Ichikawa's perspective and also features must-see new scenes for fans such as the live performance scene of Onee (Ichikawa's older sister Kana), will be released on February 13th.
In this article, we conducted an interview with voice actors Shun Horie, who plays Ichikawa, and Hina Yomiya, who plays Yamada. We asked them about the highlights of this work, focusing on topics related to the new content.
——In addition to the re-edited TV anime content from Ichikawa's perspective, this work also features new scenes such as Onee's live performance part.
Yomiya: I was really looking forward to being able to watch the atmosphere between the two (Ichikawa and Yamada) in the movie theater, and I was wondering which parts of the original work would become new scenes. But when I actually saw it, I was filled with excitement and joy, thinking "What wonderful scenes we'll be able to see on the big screen!"
Horie: With new scenes in addition to the compilation, I also had a sense of excitement about how it would be structured. When I witnessed the reaction of the audience who came to the event when the theatrical version production was announced, I was able to recognize anew just how beloved this work was.
During the recording for the new scenes, I felt more motivated, or rather, it made me straighten my posture.
——The highlight is that Onee's live performance, which was also depicted in the original work, has actually been visualized and can be heard as a song, right?
Yomiya: I simply thought it was a wonderful and great song, and Onee-chan's voice is so good (lol). And of course, the live performance footage itself. The movements were really good, and Onee-chan's expressions were cute and lovely. I thought it had a flow of time unique to the theatrical version, and I definitely want people to read the original work after seeing it in the theater.
Horie: Just as Yomiya-chan says, Onee is incredibly cute! Yukari Tamura-san's singing voice is truly wonderful. As someone who went to Tamura-san's live performances during my student days, I feel like "Amazing!" as an otaku about the fact that I'm appearing in a work where Tamura-san is singing (lol).
Since it's a compilation, there might be some people who are letting their guard down thinking they don't need to go to the theater because they've already seen the TV anime. Of course there are the new parts, but the process of the two becoming romantically involved and the changes in their emotional relationship also properly develop on the screen, so really, don't let your guard down!
