Chiikawa is a popular manga series posted on X (formerly Twitter) by illustrator Nagano since 2020. It won the Grand Prix at the "Japan Character Award 2022" and again at the "Japan Character Award 2024" announced in July 2024. The gap between the small, cute characters and the harsh reality of their world has earned it a wide following from children to adults, with over 4.56 million followers to date.

The new series of the Chiikawa anime has been airing on Fuji TV's Mezamashi TV since July 15, 2025. Additionally, the first-ever feature film, Eiga Chiikawa: Ningyo no Shima no Himitsu, is scheduled for release in Summer 2026.
