Fern Holds a "Massive Meat Bun"! All Eyes on the Original Illustration Bonus for 'Frieren: Beyond Journey's End' Blu-ray & DVD

　An original illustration visual image released by the official X account of 'Frieren: Beyond Journey's End' manga, which will be included as a purchase bonus for the anime Season 2 Blu-ray & DVD at Animate, is generating buzz among fans.

　The released image depicts Frieren (CV: Atsumi Tanezaki) and Fern (CV: Kana Ichinose) sitting around a table against a backdrop of stone-built townscape. What particularly catches the eye is the gigantic white meat bun that Fern is holding with both hands as if cradling it. This has the same characteristics as the one Fern was eating during her date with Stark in anime Episode 32.

　It's also noteworthy that Fern is wearing the dress she didn't choose during that date. Frieren, sitting across from her, also has her hand on a rather large wooden mug, and we can see the two of them relaxing and enjoying tea time together.

　'Frieren: Beyond Journey's End' is based on a manga serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday," with original story by Kanehito Yamada and artwork by Tsukasa Abe. It tells the story of Frieren, an elf mage who defeated the Demon King as a member of the Hero's Party, embarking on a "journey to understand people" following the death of the hero Himmel. The series depicts human drama from the perspective of an elf who has lived for over a thousand years, as well as her travels with new companions including her apprentice Fern and the warrior Stark.

　In response to this post, fans left numerous comments recalling episodes from the series, such as "She must have really liked that massive meat bun," "It had such incredible impact in the anime," and "She's clearly telling Frieren about her date with Stark here." There were also reactions to the items depicted, including "Frieren's mug is also huge" and "If there was a Frieren Cafe, I'd want to eat this massive meat bun."
