[Photos/Images] "Thank You for Being Friends with My 'Son'" – Kenjaku's "Mom Move" Causes Confusion Among Viewers with Reactions Like "Such a Gentle Voice..." and "Strangely Creepy" in Episode 54 of Anime "Jujutsu Kaisen" 1st

In Episode 54 of "Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: The Culling Game Part 1," which aired late at night on February 12, Kenjaku (CV: Takahiro Sakurai), the mastermind behind the Culling Game, made contact with a senior from the school that Yūji Itadori (CV: Junya Enoki) used to attend. With a shocking line, viewers were left bewildered, saying things like "What's with Kenjaku's mom vibes!"

In Episode 54, "Tokyo Colony No. 1, Part 1," Kenjaku, who orchestrated the Culling Game, appeared before "a certain woman." That person was Sasaki (CV: Mariya Ise), a senior who belonged to the Occult Research Club at Sugisawa Third High School, where Itadori originally attended.

Kenjaku told Sasaki that the place where they were had been chosen as a venue for the Culling Game, and explained that those who were inside the barrier from the beginning had the right to leave the barrier only once. When Sasaki chose to leave the barrier, Kenjaku took her hand and headed outside. Then, just before exiting the barrier, Kenjaku said to Sasaki in a strangely calm voice, "Oh yes, I almost forgot to mention. Thank you for being friends with my 'son.'"

In the flashback from Episode 49, Itadori's mother had a stitched mark on her forehead similar to Suguru Geto's, which raised suspicions that Kenjaku had possessed not only Geto but also Itadori's mother. Amidst this, a parent-like statement came from Kenjaku, leaving viewers online utterly confused, saying things like "Strangely creepy" and "What's with Kenjaku's mom vibes!" With the line now voiced in the anime, comments such as "The voice is so gentle..." and "It was said more gently than I imagined, which gave me chills" were also flooding in.
