The main cast and character design sheets for the TV anime "My Stepmother and Stepsisters Aren't Wicked," scheduled to air in 2026, have been revealed.
This work is based on a popular comic by Otsuji that has surpassed 1 million copies in total circulation (including e-books). It's a gentle and warm heartful gap comedy that begins with an unexpected turn of events: Miya Nakamura, a concubine's child taken in by the prestigious Kōnokura family following her mother's death, braces herself for terrible treatment, only to find that her stepmother and stepsisters don't "bully her" at all.
Hina Suzuki, for whom this is her first lead role, has been selected to play the protagonist Miya. Additionally, Yū Serizawa will play Marika, the eldest daughter of the Kōnokura family who welcomes Miya, and Yuka Nukui will play Arisa, the second daughter. It has already been announced that Kujira will voice the stepmother Teru.
Alongside the cast announcement, joyful comments have arrived from Suzuki, Serizawa, and Nukui. Suzuki, in her first lead role, expressed her enthusiasm, saying, "Like Miya on her first day of life with the Kōnokura family, I'm completely on guard, but I will use this tension as fuel and do my very best to deliver a life-sized Miya."
