The official X account for the 'Frieren: Beyond Journey's End' anime has announced that the anime broadcast scheduled for Friday, February 20th will be taking a break, accompanied by an image of a sleeping Frieren.
While the 20th would normally be a broadcast day, this week will be on hiatus, and starting next week on Friday, February 27th, the new arc of the second season, "The Arc of Revolte the Divine," will begin. The image posted alongside the announcement features Frieren (CV: Atsumi Tanezaki) lying comfortably in her futon, peacefully sleeping with her eyes gently closed.
'Frieren: Beyond Journey's End' is based on the manga by Kanehito Yamada (original story) and Tsukasa Abe (artwork), currently serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday." The story follows Frieren, an elven mage who was part of the hero's party that defeated the Demon King, as she embarks on a "journey to understand people" following the death of the hero Himmel. The narrative depicts human drama from the perspective of an elf who has lived for over a thousand years, and chronicles her journey with new companions including her apprentice Fern and the warrior Stark.
In response to this broadcast break announcement, many fans posted comments referencing the in-series joke about Frieren crying continuously for three days and nights, such as "No, no way—I look forward to this every week. I'm going to throw a tantrum" and "I'll spend the week crying." Additionally, many positive reactions were observed from fans who, while disappointed about the break, are eagerly anticipating the new arc, with comments like "I'll be waiting with bated breath until next week" and "I'm too excited about The Arc of Revolte the Divine, so I can wait!"
The adorable sleeping face image attached has generated significant buzz, with fans commenting "Since there's a break this week, it's Frieren indulging in lazy sleep" and "Sleeping Frieren is so cute."
