It has been announced that the anime "Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: The Culling Game Part 1" achieved the highest monthly viewership in the series' history on ABEMA in January 2026.
The TV anime "Jujutsu Kaisen" is based on the immensely popular manga by Gege Akutami, serialized in Shueisha's "Weekly Shonen Jump." The story follows the protagonist Yūji Itadori, who consumes a special grade cursed object—the finger of Ryomen Sukuna—and becomes host to a curse within his own soul, as he plunges into the harsh battles between jujutsu sorcerers and cursed spirits.
With its profound world-building, severe storyline, and thrilling battle scenes garnering widespread popularity, the series has surpassed 150 million copies in total circulation. The TV anime aired in October 2020 and July 2023, and in December 2021, the series' first film, "Jujutsu Kaisen 0," which depicts a prequel to the main story, was released. It became a massive hit, surpassing 26.5 billion yen in worldwide box office revenue and accumulating over 20.51 million admissions globally.
On ABEMA, "Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3: The Culling Game Part 1" has been broadcasting new episodes for free every week starting January 8th (Thursday). It has now been announced that the series' monthly viewership on ABEMA (※1) for January, the first month of Season 3's broadcast, recorded the highest numbers in history compared to the broadcast periods of Seasons 1 and 2 (※2).
