To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the TV anime and original manga series' conclusion, a completion screening event for "Assassination Classroom the Movie: 365 Days' Time" (releasing March 20th), which features completely newly produced episodes, was held on February 22nd at Shinjuku Wald 9.
The event was attended by Jun Fukuyama, who voices Koro-sensei, Mai Fuchigami, who voices Nagisa Shiota/Hotaru, Nobuhiko Okamoto, who voices Karma Akabane, and Koro-sensei (in costume). As the sound of a chime echoed through the packed venue, a live reading performance by Fuchigami and Okamoto began. A production unfolded that involved the audience in attempting to assassinate Koro-sensei, instantly drawing the venue into the world of "Assassination Classroom."
This was the first time in approximately 10 years that the three had gathered together for an "Assassination Classroom" event. While Okamoto expressed his delight, saying "It feels like it's been a while since we've met for work," Fukuyama revealed the team's long-standing bond, stating "Every year, we get together for drinks with the 'Assassination Classroom' team, including the original creator Yusei Matsui-sensei, and we did it again this year."
This work is a completely new production that visualizes original episodes that had not been animated before. Regarding the recording sessions, Fuchigami looked back with a smile on the excitement of the time, saying "It was so lively that I wondered if there could be such a noisy recording site—it was just like a class reunion." Additionally, regarding newly voicing Hotaru, a character who is the spitting image of Nagisa, she expressed her joy, saying "I had always thought I'd like to play the role if given the chance, so I was happy."
When Fukuyama watched the completed work, he reported with tears, "I watched it without knowing the ending, so honestly... I was moved to tears! I'm glad I didn't watch it at the screening with everyone." Okamoto reflected thoughtfully, "Including Hotaru's episode, I thought there were still such interesting episodes remaining. After watching, I wanted to see Koro-sensei."
Finally, Fukuyama declared with conviction, "Whether you've loved it since the old days or touched it for the first time through reruns, it's become a work that can be enjoyed from various angles. I want to make this a major event that marks the conclusion of the 10th anniversary." The venue was enveloped in warm applause, and the event closed with great success.
"Assassination Classroom the Movie: 365 Days' Time" will be released nationwide on Friday, March 20th, 2026.
