[Photos/Images] "I knew it was him just by the forehead!" Fans react to Soichiro Yamamoto's celebratory illustration for "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" Season 2. 1st

A supportive illustration drawn by manga artist Soichiro Yamamoto was posted on the official X account of "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End," and it is quickly becoming a hot topic online.

The post featured an illustration of Frieren (CV: Atsumi Tanezaki) accompanied by a message of gratitude: "A big thank you to Soichiro Yamamoto-sensei of Mane Mane Nichinichi." The artwork includes a handwritten note saying, "Congratulations on the Season 2 broadcast!"
The depicted Frieren is captured in an adorable style, sporting the iconic, broad, and prominent forehead often seen in Yamamoto’s own character designs.

Frieren: Beyond Journey's End is an anime series based on the manga of the same name, written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. Set in a world "after" the Demon King has been defeated by the Hero’s party, this post-victory fantasy follows Frieren—an elf mage who has lived for over a thousand years. After the passing of one of her former comrades, she embarks on a new journey to "understand humans." The first season, which aired for two consecutive cours starting in the fall of 2023, received an overwhelming response, and the highly anticipated second season is currently on the air.

Fans have flooded the comments with a mix of excitement and playful banter in response to the illustration, which clearly showcases Yamamoto’s signature style. Comments include: "She’s become 'Dekoren'!", "That classic forehead," "I knew who drew this just by looking at the forehead," "His forehead obsession is as consistent as ever," and "Teasing Master Frieren-san."
