"I want to live in the spot where their hair gets tangled": Fans go wild over Kaworu Nagisa and Shinji Ikari live-drawing artwork from "Evangelion"

Khara Inc. 2nd Unit’s X (formerly Twitter) account recently shared a post showcasing an illustration created by Shuichi Iseki during a live-drawing session at Eva Fes, and it’s quickly becoming a hot topic.

The post features a photo with the comment: "The piece completed during the live-drawing session is now on display next to Unit-01 at the entrance! Please come and take a look." The photo shows a canvas on an easel, depicting Kaworu Nagisa (CV: Akira Ishida) and Shinji Ikari (CV: Megumi Ogata) from Evangelion. The two are shown sitting side-by-side in white short-sleeved shirts and trousers, with Kaworu’s left arm draped around Shinji’s shoulder. The text "EVANGELION:30+;" is written at the bottom of the illustration, and the massive leg of Evangelion Unit-01 can be seen just beside it.

Evangelion is a legendary series that sparked a social phenomenon upon its TV debut in 1995. It follows the story of young pilots operating the "Evangelion" multipurpose humanoid decisive weapons in a battle against the mysterious "Angels." Starting in 2007, the series was rebooted as the Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy and continues to enjoy massive support even after its conclusion. The festival "EVANGELION:30+; 30th ANNIVERSARY OF EVANGELION," held to celebrate the 30th anniversary, saw a huge turnout—especially with the announcement of an entirely new project for the series.
