Manga artist Imigimuru has sparked discussion with their reaction on the official X account to the POP UP SHOP information and newly illustrated artwork for the TV anime 'Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!'.
On the official X account of AMNIBUS, an e-commerce site for anime and manga goods, the opening of "TV Anime 'Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!' POP UP SHOP in AMNIBUS STORE & Animate" was announced, along with the unveiling of newly illustrated artwork with the concept of a "beach date."
The revealed image depicts four characters wearing white T-shirts over their swimsuits, from left to right: Chika Komari (CV: Momoka Terasawa), Anna Yanami (CV: Hikaru Tōno), Lemon Yakishio (CV: Shion Wakayama), and Yoshiki Nukumizu (CV: Minami Tanaka). In all cases, the T-shirts are wet and transparent, revealing their skin and the swimsuits underneath, creating an eye-catching visual.
In response to this, Imigimuru reacted on X by saying, "I want the T-shirts these four are wearing!" However, they immediately quoted and reposted their own tweet, saying, "...Wait? Doesn't this make me sound like a pervert who wants the shirts they've already worn? Is this okay??" which has been generating reactions.
The TV anime 'Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!' is a youth romantic comedy based on the light novel of the same name by Takibi Amamori. Imigimuru is in charge of the original novel's illustrations. The series depicts the unique daily lives of "losing heroines (makein)"—heroines who have lost in love, including a gluttonous childhood friend, an energetic track and field club member, and a small-animal-like literature club member—together with the protagonist Kazuhiko Nukumizu, and has been gaining popularity.
In response to Imigimuru's series of posts, fans have been commenting with reactions such as "That meaning is coming across clearly," "The worn ones? Is that what you're saying?" "Sensei... my heart was impure..." and "Looking forward to your review of how they feel to wear."
