"The Bunny Ear Costumes Are So Cute I Can't Handle It!" Easter Visual of Anime "The Apothecary Diaries" Featuring Maomao, Jinshi, Shisui, and Others Released

The official anime account of "The Apothecary Diaries" has released an original visual for "AnimeJapan 2026" on X, sparking major buzz.

According to the post, this year's AnimeJapan theme is "Easter." A brand-new visual full of spring has been released, and numerous new products featuring this original visual will be sold at the TOHO animation booth.

The released image shows five characters lined up from left to right: Xiaolan, Shisui, Maomao, Jinshi, and Gaoshun. All of them are wearing bunny ears on their heads, holding or carrying colorful Easter eggs in baskets. They are depicted in adorable poses full of seasonal atmosphere, dressed in gorgeous costumes incorporating spring-like pastel colors.

In response to this post, fans have been flooding in with praise for the characters' fresh looks, with comments such as "The bunny ear costumes are so cute I can't handle it!" "It's very spring-like, I love the color scheme," "So cute!" "I can't believe even Gaoshun is included," and "Gaoshun's bunny ears have such a great gap, it's hilarious."

"The Apothecary Diaries" is an anime adaptation based on the light novel of the same name by Hyuganatsu. It's a major hit that has also been adapted into manga in two monthly magazines and a manga app. The series gained massive popularity and became a hot topic for its mystery drama featuring Maomao working as a "poison taster" in the imperial palace, as well as the comical interactions between Maomao and Jinshi. The TV anime has aired up to Season 2, and Season 3 has been announced to air in split two-cours starting in October 2026 and April 2027. Additionally, the series' first theatrical film is scheduled for release in December 2026.
