On ABEMA, the special program "TV Anime 'You and I Are Polar Opposites' Cultural Festival SP That Had Way Too Much Going On" was broadcast exclusively for free from 8:30 PM on Saturday, February 21, 2026.

"You and I Are Polar Opposites" is a youth romantic comedy that depicts the story of two "opposite" individuals—Suzuki, an always cheerful girl who worries about what others think, and Tani, a quiet boy who can clearly express his opinions—as they slowly deepen their relationship while understanding and respecting each other, along with their school life with friends.

The program featured main cast members including Sayumi Suzushiro (voice of Suzuki), Shogo Sakata (voice of Tani), Anzi Iwata (voice of Yamada), and Kokoro Omori (voice of Nishi), as well as three members from the six-person music unit PAS TASTA—Kabanagu, yuigot, and Amane Uyama—who performed the ending theme. With the romantic relationships of Suzuki and Tani, as well as Yamada and Nishi, as the axis, the program looked back thoroughly at the story so far with behind-the-scenes dubbing stories, deep dives into the music that colors the work, and variety segments related to the "cultural festival," making it packed with content.

Sayumi Suzushiro: "Don't look! (embarrassed)" Studio Goes Wild Over Suzuki & Tani's "Romance History"

This broadcast delved deep into the relationships of Suzuki and Tani, as well as Yamada and Nishi. First, they looked back at the romance between Suzuki and Tani.

Suzushiro reflected, saying, "It had a climactic feel from Episode 1," and commented, "As Suzuki, as 'one human being,' it was a deeply moving first episode where I realized 'it's okay to put my honest thoughts into words.'" About Suzuki gradually changing by being near Tani, she said, "They're a couple you want to root for, or rather, watch over," and the studio nodded deeply.

Meanwhile, Sakata analyzed that Tani's encounter with Suzuki brought about internal changes. He said, "He started thinking about things he hadn't really considered before," and also mentioned the scene in Episode 6 where he confides his frustrations. "That's where I felt Tani-kun's growth," he said, looking back at the moment when the two grew even closer.

Furthermore, in the VTR of Suzuki and Tani, they replayed a rush of heart-fluttering developments such as the scene where they hold hands for the first time, the confession, and the fireworks date. In the scene in Episode 3 where Tani calls Suzuki "cute," everyone screamed "Uwaaaah!" and Suzushiro also couldn't help but say "Don't look!" with an embarrassed smile. MC Mori also let slip, "It's like a studio watching a dating reality show," making it an extremely exciting look back.

"You guys are the winners!" Empathy Explodes Over Yamada & Nishi's Closing Distance! Kokoro Omori Also Confesses to "Eavesdropping" Commonality!?

Next, they delved deep into the relationship between Yamada and Nishi. They looked back at how these two "opposites"—the bright and overly straightforward Yamada and the introverted Nishi who isn't good at communication—gradually close the distance between them.

First, Iwata described Yamada as "a boy who's too honest" while explaining he's "fundamentally kind and a mood maker." He also touched on how Yamada suddenly says words that hit the core, saying, "When I first read the line 'Maybe I'm going to fall in love,' I was made to realize, 'That feeling definitely exists!'" as he spoke of another charm point.

On the other hand, Omori explained about Nishi, "She's an introverted person who finds what she hears around her interesting but can't say it," and confessed that she herself is "the type who laughs when listening to people's conversations." She revealed, "Even on set, I would eavesdrop on conversations I could hear and giggle to myself," which enveloped the studio in surprise and laughter.

Also, in the VTR of Yamada and Nishi, there was a scene where Sakata shouted "Hiiiii! How can you say something like that!" at a scene where Yamada closes the distance with Nishi super directly. The studio burst into laughter at Sakata muttering, "This is the kind of guy who must be popular~." Suzushiro also said "A natural charmer" and "No ulterior motives at all," and Omori also said "No unpleasantness," as attention focused on Yamada's "straightforwardness" that opens Nishi's heart. At the two gradually growing closer, Suzushiro passionately declared "You guys are the winners!" wrapping up the corner with great excitement.
