Details of the third collaboration between The Apothecary Diaries and JR Tokai's "Oshi Trip," titled "The Apothecary Diaries Futari Tabi: Osaka Edition," have been announced. The official series X account called out to fans, saying "Please check it out along with the visuals!" and the newly released original illustration has become a major topic of conversation.

This visual is an original illustration by Shinotouko, the character designer for the series. Against the backdrop of the Osaka City Central Public Hall, a nationally designated Important Cultural Property, Maomao (CV: Aoi Yūki) and Jinshi (CV: Takeo Ōtsuka) stand side by side dressed in modern attire. Maomao showcases an adorable coordination with a yellow lace dress paired with a white hat. Beside her, Jinshi, smartly dressed in a white three-piece suit, smiles with an expression that seems to overflow with undeniable joy, as if he has forgotten his usual position.

The Apothecary Diaries is a mystery work based on a light novel by Hyuganatsu. Set in medieval East Asia, it follows Maomao, a young girl with extensive knowledge of medicinal herbs, as she solves difficult incidents occurring in the imperial harem in her role as a food taster. The intrigue swirling through the beautiful court and the delicate dynamic between Maomao and Jinshi, the beautiful eunuch who is infatuated with her, have garnered strong support, with the series surpassing 45 million copies in total circulation. The highly anticipated third season of the anime is scheduled to air in October 2026, followed by a theatrical film release in December of the same year.
