Giant Doraemon Balloon and 56 Life-Sized Doraemons Appear in Tokyo! "Doraemon Everywhere in Shibuya and Roppongi!" Event Report

Starting March 27, "100% Doraemon & Friends in Tokyo"—an event where the worlds of the Doraemon manga, anime, and feature-length films all come together—will be held at Tokyo Dream Park. As a pre-event, "Doraemon Everywhere in Shibuya and Roppongi!" is taking place on March 14 and 15, featuring a massive gathering of Doraemons in the heart of the city.

In this article, we’ll bring you a report on the pre-event, focusing on photos taken during the press preview at Roppongi Hills Arena, the main venue for the Roppongi area.

The "Doraemon" manga, which Fujiko F. Fujio began serializing in 1969, is a long-running series loved worldwide through its TV anime and theatrical films. The latest movie, "Eiga Doraemon: Shin Nobita no Kaitei Kiganjō," has also been playing in theaters nationwide since February 27, 2026.

At "100% Doraemon & Friends in Tokyo," the Secret Gadget "100% Friend-Gathering Bell" makes its first appearance. In addition to a gathering of over 100 life-sized Doraemons, visitors can enjoy original manga drawings and two newly produced special animation shorts.

The pre-event held in the Shibuya and Roppongi areas also saw many Doraemons gathered by the "100% Friend-Gathering Bell." In the Roppongi area, a "Giant Doraemon Balloon" measuring approximately 12 meters in length caught the eyes of passersby. Wearing a beret—one of Fujiko F. Fujio's trademarks—and holding a manga pen, the massive Doraemon looked as if he were gently watching over the venue.

Furthermore, a total of 46 life-sized Doraemons, featuring various expressions and poses, stood in a row. The sight is sure to excite not only children but also adults who are still kids at heart.

The life-sized Doraemons came in many varieties, from those using familiar Secret Gadgets to unique versions seen in the manga and anime.
