The anime "High School! Kimengumi" is based on a gag manga by Motoei Shinzawa that was serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (published by Shueisha) in 1980. The original work started as "3-nen Kimengumi" and was retitled "High School! Kimengumi" as the characters advanced to higher grades. It's a gag anime depicting the unpredictable school life of uniquely individualistic groups such as Rei Ichidō and the "Kimengumi," along with "Honegumi," "Irootokogumi," "Udegumi," and "Bangumi."
■Episode 10 Synopsis:
"Let's Go School Trip"
The students of Ichiō High School head to Kyoto on their school trip! Apparently, a gorgeously extravagant dinner featuring premium Kyoto wagyu beef and matsutake mushrooms will be served at night. It should be a fun trip... or so they thought, but Rei and the other group leaders miss the bus and get left behind! After going through terrible ordeals, the leaders somehow manage to reach the lodging, only to find that the dinner they were looking forward to has already been completely devoured. Unable to let things end like this, the leaders that night...
