The original work is a coming-of-age first love romantic comedy currently serialized on "Champion Cross," with cumulative comic sales exceeding 7 million copies. The story delicately weaves the bittersweet yet warm relationship between Kyotaro Ichikawa, an introverted middle school student with chuunibyou tendencies, and Anna Yamada, a carefree and beautiful girl, garnering widespread empathy and support. The TV anime's first season aired in 2023, followed by the second season in 2024, with the second season winning the Best Award in the 2D Animation Category at the "29th Asian Television Awards." Since February 16, 2026, a theatrical film re-editing the TV series from Ichikawa's perspective has been a massive hit in theaters, surpassing 170,000 in audience attendance.
