TV Anime "The World Is Dancing" to Begin Airing in July! Additional Cast Including Katsuyuki Konishi and Maaya Uchida & Teaser PV Released

It has been decided that the TV anime "The World Is Dancing" will begin airing on TOKYO MX, BS Asahi, and other channels starting in July 2026. Coinciding with the announcement of the broadcast period, the latest teaser PV featuring the main characters' voices for the first time has been released, and information about the cast and production staff has been unveiled all at once. Additionally, newly drawn illustrations by the original author and comments have arrived.

This work is based on a manga by Kazuto Mihara and depicts the story of Zeami, who would later perfect "Noh," during the era when he was called "Oniyasha," as he searches for his own unique dance.

In the latest PV, the people surrounding Oniyasha are depicted along with the line "Whether I dance or not, people die" spoken by Oniyasha, played by Yumiri Hanamori. Katsuyuki Konishi will play Kan'ami, the head of the Kanze-za troupe and Oniyasha's father, while Shimba Tsuchiya has been cast as Ishiya, Maaya Uchida as Kogane, Romi Park as Zoujiro, and Haruki Ishiya as Junigoro.

For the production team, specialists from various fields have assembled to express the performing arts of the Muromachi period through modern animation. For the dance choreography, dancer Kaiji Moriyama, who worked on productions such as the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic opening ceremony, and dancer-choreographer Mikiko Kawamura are participating. Additionally, Noh performer Reijiro Tsumura, holder of Important Intangible Cultural Properties, serves as kata supervision, and the music is handled by Daisuke Shinoda. Animation producer Tadashi Mizoguchi has expressed his hopes to convey through this work the passion of the performing arts, which were the cutting-edge culture of the Muromachi period, through anime, a contemporary form of entertainment.
