A newly drawn illustration posted on the official X account of JR East's Niigata Branch is drawing a huge response. The image revealed in the post only features Hathaway Noa (CV: Kensho Ono) and Gigi Andalucia (CV: Reina Ueda) from Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe, but the suggestive casting and character lineup uncovered from the campaign details have become a hot topic.

In the released image, Hathaway and Gigi are wearing the conductor uniforms for the Joyful Train "Kairi." Both are clad in black-based uniforms, adorned with the "Kairi" logo on their chests.

Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway: The Sorcery of Nymph Circe, highlighted in the post, is an animated work set in the Universal Century (U.C.) 0105. It depicts the battles and struggles of the protagonist, the leader of the anti-Federation organization "Mafty," who rises up against the corruption of the Earth Federation government 12 years after the Second Neo Zeon War. Encounters and crossing paths with a girl possessing mysterious powers and Federation Forces Colonel Kenneth Sleg (CV: Junichi Suwabe) hold the key to the story.

The "JR East Niigata & Shonai Mobile Suit Gundam Series Ekitag Stamp Rally ~The Glory of Victory to You!~", which will be held starting March 23, 2026, is a project where characters from various series welcome fans in JR East uniforms and Joyful Train conductor outfits. The buzz didn't stop at the posted image of Hathaway; it spread to the entire set of limited newly drawn illustrations from past works that can be seen on the campaign's details page.

The newly drawn illustrations of the characters wearing conductor uniforms feature Amuro Ray and Lalah Sune, Kamille Bidan and Four Murasame, Judau Ashta and Haman Karn, Char Aznable and Quess Paraya, as well as Hathaway Noa and Gigi Andalucia. The combinations of characters across different works and the brilliance of the compositions are further fueling fans' excitement.

In response to the character selection and lineup in this series of illustrations, fans have shared various reactions, such as "I can sense the obsessive thoughts of a hardcore Gunota," "Every single one is a perfectly anxiety-inducing pairing," "It's genuinely evil that every pair has experienced a tragic death lol," and "Haman's gaze here is insane... This isn't just a random lineup... She's looking at both Judau and Char... Fans are definitely going to interpret this in different ways."
